The Immunity law passed - No Standards of Care Needed
The Governor Signed the Immunity Bill into Law. We will never understand putting long-term care facilities in this immunity bill without the due diligence this vulnerable population deserved to have. Medicare ratings of nursing homes do not seem to be considered, there is no standards to meet before obtaining immunity. Past nursing home care issues are ignored. Not only were there no standards, but no oversight given to those that take care of the most vulnerable elderly. This is not what families consider to be protecting residents. It shows no regard for the high level of care they depend on every single day, even in an emergency. It seems like a reward was given whether you earned it or not.
