HUGE NEWS! New CMS Guidance on Allowing Nursing Home Visits
CMS released a memo on 9/17/2020 that gives new guidance in nursing homes engaging outside and inside visits depending on weather. It also states they must have a safety or clinical reason why they are not engaging visits or they could face fines.
They also addressed that it is time to get resident out of their rooms! Dinning and activates socially distanced should be engaged once again. This will help with the isolation they face being kept in their rooms for weeks and some even months!
This does not resolve all issues going on, however, it is a step in the right direction!
