July 20th, Another Disappointment to Familes wanting See Their Loved Ones in Nursing Homes

Updated 7/22/2020

It is becoming more apparent, there will be no right time to visit family members in nursing homes anytime soon. So, there needs to be a solution that families can visit, advocate, and help care for their loved ones. at any time.

Governor DeWine made an announcement almost a month ago, that families would be able to have visits in Nursing Homes July 20th. Most didn’t understand why facilities couldn’t start visits that had no history of COVID in the facilities. However, they tried to be patient, understanding, and trusting that by July 20th the Nursing Homes would be ready for visits.

One of the biggest reasons they are not ready for visits is that the testing was not completed by the National Guard that must be done before visits can be engaged. If it couldn’t be completed, it shouldn’t have been promised.

Elderly Advocates speaks up for the residents and families here. Thank you Sarah Taylor, of WKSU for getting the story out, it was not the happy day everyone thought was happening that day, that story needed told.
