HIPAA Used as Excuse to Withhold Public Information

Too many times, HIPAA laws are used for a reason not to release information that is not a part of HIPAA. The HIPAA Laws apply to an individual’s PHI (Protected Health Information). This has been a big roadblock for families to get information regarding general information long-term care facilities. These laws are meant to protect individuals and their personal health information.
