When a facility feels they have a “difficult resident” it may be that there is a issue that is not being addressed and is frustrating the resident. Anti-Psychotic meds should be a last choice, not a first choice.
We can’t stress enough a good way to monitor care in a facility is to request the MARS (Medication Administration Record) monthly. It will state if meds given on time, correct dosage, and you will have a list of current medications. Sometimes medications are added by the doctor and the family was not notified and the facility thought they were.
