A Press Release from the ODA (Ohio Dept. of Aging) 2.27.24
Elderly Advocates is excited to see this conversation being started. There were many promising things stated here that could start to help improve care. Transparency, updates and reports are critical for the public to see when such a crisis in long-term care exists. Giving more funding to agenices will help, however, it is our hope that more objective surveys will be done in an anonymous way from the responders. This may give a tell tale sign that giving raises to keep people that are not cut out for this type of work, or hiring more people without more intense training, the money will not help. So, we keep hope that we will all work together to make our Ombudsman’s Office one that is a positive force in our state and lead the way for others. Together, we can make a difference!
